Holly has been involved in first aid for many years,
starting out as a volunteer Lifesaver for the Royal Life Saving Society (RLSS)
at the age of 8, and then working
her way up to qualify as a lifeguard and swim instructor. The pinnacle of her
swim teaching career was coaching actor Will Smith’s children to swim.
She studied for
Business Management degree at Manchester Metropolitan University and
passed with 1st Class Honours which drove her to start her own business.
Becoming a Chartered Trainer and Assessor for the
Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development (CIPD)
was the next milestone. Holly then took the role of North West (UK and Ireland)
training coordinator for InterContinental Hotel Group, training their employees
to become gym instructors as well as freelancing for the NHS as a lifestyle
consultant/ smoking cessation advisor. |

In 2007 Holly was
sponsored by the Australian Department of Immigration to be a Safety and
First Aid trainer and assessor, educating the mining industry an array of
safety skills as well as working with St John's Ambulance Australia and the
Australian Royal Lifesaving Society. This job took her all over the West of
Oz, flying to all the mine sites and training all kinds of exciting skills
like working at heights and how to descend from a cherry picker!
Leading from this extensive history of First Aid and safety experiences, Funky
First Aid was born, offering a wide variety of courses for
all ages and abilities to enjoy. |
